HUMOR
The goal here
is to get 5 – 10 good, deep belly laughs in a short period of time. (Stay away from the cutesy-romantic
comedies.) Chances are your children
haven’t seen you really laugh in a long time. It will be good for them to know you are really happy and o.k.
for a little while and it’ll also be good for them to feel like they can
easily interact with you without worry about your emotional state. Also, it might be contagious – your
children might start laughing too. Of course,
comedy and humor are all in the eye of the beholder. Here are some all-time favorites: Stand-up
comedian shows/videos, e.g. Bill Cosby, George Carlin, Robin Williams Tootsie Jumpin’ Jack

television or video) of favorite old sit-coms, but not just the average good
ones, the ones that were hysterical throughout the whole show, more like
A.L.F. and the Muppet Show, than say Andy Griffith, which was nice, but not
rip-roaring laughter filled, maybe Dick Van Dyke, etc. Re-runs/videos
